As Alden Hotel, engaged in accommodation activities in the world and Turkish tourism, we aim to integrate the concept of sustainability into our current operations, future investments, and value chain by evaluating environmental, social, and corporate governance practices.

In line with the increasing world population and demands, we adopt a sustainable development approach that does not neglect future generations and meets the needs of today while researching conscious consumption methods and alternative resources to ensure the sustainability of natural resources.

Our sustainability policy forms the foundation of Alden Hotel’s operations and is integrated into our business model, starting from our board of directors, and extending to all our departments.

We are aware of our responsibility towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals to address global challenges such as climate change, poverty, hunger, inequality, water scarcity, and biodiversity loss.

We aim to enhance living standards and welfare by expanding our investments, prioritizing sustainable development in our work and decision-making processes.

With an awareness of our impact on ecological, economic, and social dimensions, we are committed to developing the following SDGs as our primary focus and shaping our activities accordingly by the year 2030.

Conscious of the need for technologies that consume less energy, we are committed to conducting production and services that respect human health, biodiversity, and environmental resources. We continue to research and integrate innovative best available technologies into our projects, aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and carbon footprint according to scientifically based targets, and to transition towards a low-carbon economy. In line with this, we are conducting efforts and investments under the scope of the European Green Deal to reduce waste, use resources efficiently, and promote the recycling of chemicals and energy.

Our board of directors actively participates in examining issues that conflict with our sustainability policies, reporting on them, and establishing short, medium, and long-term sustainability goals for improvement.

In our reports, we evaluate the positive and negative trends of the results generated by our activities in our impact area through internal and external audits; we take corrective actions, develop initiatives to improve social, environmental, and economic aspects, and apply national and international standards to provide the highest quality in accordance with the needs of our stakeholders.

To efficiently conduct business activities from an environmental, social, and governance perspective:

We consider human and labor rights, social justice, business ethics, workforce diversity, gender and equal opportunities, risk management, commitment and collaboration with stakeholders, and legal compliance. We take preventive measures against corruption, bribery, harassment, discrimination, and child labor.

We strive to create the necessary resources to integrate sustainability values that are low in ecological footprint, combat climate change, utilize resources efficiently, conserve water, and prioritize efficient and reliable energy technologies for the planet into both our own operations and our supply chain.

In this regard, we commit to regularly reviewing and keeping our sustainability policy up to date by consulting with relevant departments. All our employees are obligated to collaborate in implementing and embracing our sustainability commitments.

During the implementation of our activities, actions are taken in accordance with international and local regulations, based on our Waste and Wastewater, Cultural Heritage, Environmental and Social, Environmental Emergency, Internal and External Complaint, Health and Safety, Human Resources, Stakeholder Engagement, Education, and Water Resource Management Plans.

Within the scope of environmental management systems, our principle is to set new goals for the evaluation and continuous improvement of direct and indirect carbon emissions, energy, and water consumption through EIA and third-party independent environmental audits and drills.

In line with the waste management hierarchy and the Zero Waste Project, our primary goal is to reduce the amount of waste at the source, and in cases where it is not possible to reduce the amount of waste to zero, all types of waste are separated according to their types.

Our stakeholders include local governments, ministries, NGOs, media, local communities, suppliers, consumers, and our employees. We value conducting discussions (surveys, etc.) among our stakeholders to ensure transparent, sincere, and open communication channels. Consumer satisfaction and loyalty are monitored to enhance our competence.

With the goal of zero accidents and zero occupational diseases at the facility, our Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) performance is monitored, and root causes of incidents threatening the health and safety of those working in the field are investigated. Proactive, corrective, and preventive activities (CAPA) are embraced as a principle for a sustainable working environment.

The training and development of our employees are critical to us. In this regard, we invest in sustainability training to encourage our employees to realize their competence and potential.

We conduct fair, equal opportunity, non-discriminatory, responsible, and humane relationships, and we try to establish contact with the local community within the impact area of our facility.

Our employees and local communities actively report to us through complaint and suggestion mechanisms, allowing for the evaluation and action to be taken on potential risky situations and requests (such as education, employment, food supply, etc.) before they become critical. Our Sustainability Policy is integrated with our company’s other environmental, social, and corporate policies.

The Board of Directors commits to fulfilling the requirements stated in this policy and expects Alden Hotel employees to do the same.
